PORTFOLIO MANAGER Team: Portfolio Management Function: CTO – Strategy & Optimisation Location: Dublin / London Reports to: Head of Portfolio full time or part time Department Overview: As part of the Strategy & Optimisation team the Portfolio function will co-ordinates a collection of strategic processes and decisions that together enable the most effective balance of projects for the organisation, (Includes Technology, Commercial Online, Risk & Trading, Customer Operations, International, Retail, Compliance and Corporate). Role Overview/Purpose: The Portfolio Manager coordinates the dynamic decision processes for products. By managing alignment across Commercial and Technology the Portfolio Manager maintains an effective project balance and investment approach to achieve commercial product objectives. Key Responsibilities: Take charge of demand management, support stakeholders through efficient demand processes Own a transparent and commercially understandable view of the portfolio for the group Preserve a balanced and efficient pipeline of new products Provide insight so stakeholders understand delivery capability in terms of product outcome Promote commercial awareness to all stakeholders (demand & supply) to yield value for money Show portfolio alignment to business strategy, highlight & resolve where it does not align Set and continually revise investment strategy with stakeholders, manage portfolio accordingly Own the approach to maintaining effective relationships and communication between stakeholders who initiate, define and deliver product Perform regular health checks on the product portfolio, identify and resolve risks and issues Identify and settle product inter-dependencies, business trade-offs and benefits realisation Coordinate with stakeholders including Finance to produce product forecasts & budgets Own, ensure accuracy and relevancy of all product communications for the allocated portfolio Behavioural Competencies: Communicates Effectively Is effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels Collaborates Works cooperatively and partners with others across the organisation to get work done Gains trust and support of others Flexes communication style to meet the needs of various audiences Business Insight Uses knowledge of business drivers and how strategies and tactics play out in the market to guide actions Knows how businesses work and how organisations make money and stay competitive Keeps up with current and possible future policies, practices, and trends in the organisation, with the competition, and in the marketplace Being Resilient Is resilient and confident under pressure Handles and manages crises effectively Grows from hardships and negative experiences Technical Competencies: Commercial acumen Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, ability to communicate succinctly Strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills Excellent ability to co-ordinate multiple stakeholders, requirements and priorities such that issues are successfully resolved Knowledge of technology environments and the products that are built thereon Highly proficient with office tools Education, Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors/Master’s degree in a business or technology discipline Previous experience in running programmes and projects is essential Flexible Working Options: 1/ Working from Home 2/ Flexible Hours Paddy Power Betfair plc is an international sports betting and gaming operator, with a market-leading presence in the UK, Ireland, Australia and the USA, as well as a range of operations across Europe including Romania, Portugal and Malta.
