Requirements You will engage effectively with young people in their own communities and contribute towards their learning and development by using a range of educational practices and approaches. You will be responsible for planning, organising and evaluating youth work activities such as arts & crafts sessions, sports events, team challenges and more specific activities such as Youth Achievement Award projects and residential learning experiences. Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. We pay the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £8.75 per hour for this post. The Individual You must have the ability to engage positively with groups of young people and develop strong, positive and trusting relationships in order to support them to make informed choices in their lives. The post holder should have good organisational and time keeping skills and have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Although no formal qualifications are necessary, a SVQ2 or SVQ3 in Youth Work / PDA Youth Work would be desirable. The post holder should be IT literate and be viewed by young people attending youth work projects and clubs, as a positive role model and influence in their lives.
