Product Group Manager Engineer Due to recent increased and planned business levels, our client is looking to recruit an engineer, with an electrical background, for the position of Product Group Manager. Site work at client locations within the UK and Ireland will be required. Work at other locations may be required in the future. Primary Responsibilities Working within an experienced and established project engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery, commissioning and troubleshooting of turnkey, packaged dosing plants for use within the water treatmen tindustry. Whilst mainly focussing on the water treatment industry, the successful candidate will also provide electrical engineering support to other areas of the business and should aspire to become the Electrical Engineering Authority within the Business. This will entail but not be limited to:- Line Management of a team of two direct reports (one to be hired). To play an active role in ensuring that all project HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded. Ensure that contractual requirements are met within the agreed time scales and budget. Liaison with external control system manufacturers and electrical installers. Liaison with Client’s engineers and project managers. Liaise with other departments within the business (Process, Mechanical, Production and Sales) as appropriate to ensure the contractual requirements are met. Electrical and control system design. Specification of the control system and cable installation design. Creation of Instrument specifications and selection thereof. Developing the Control Philosophy and FDSs. Review, comment upon and approve third party documentation. Ensure contractual documentation requirements are provided to the client and other third parties within the agreed timescales. Developing the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) workscope and strategy. Coordinate and carry out on & off-site commissioning. Ensuring commissioning SAT/FAT is carried out inaccordance with commissioning specifications standards, procedures and project schedules and is achieved within budget. Supervise site installation ,as required. Plan organise and deliver client operator training, as required. Site inspection visits. Plan and organise site maintenance activities in accordance with agreed maintenance contracts. (This is a future requirement). Troubleshooting. Secondary Responsibilities Monitor and report commissioning progresson a regular basis Attend project HAZOPs/ Risk Assessments Attend project HAZOPs/ Risk Assessments Proactively identify and report problem & shortcomings with designs and existing equipment. Support Sales Team onsite/plant visits. Site surveys /Reports. Any other duties as required that are commensurate with this level within the organisation, and deemed by the Board to be within the post holder’s capabilities Actively support and place emphasis on building strong links with departmental interfaces. Skills & Qualification Ideally, applicants will have an electrical engineering background and experience in Project Management within at least one of the Water Treatment, Processor Oil & Gas sectors. Internal product training will be provided to the successful candidate. Have an understanding of Low voltage and control systems. Be familiar with P&IDs. Be familiar with Motor control. Be familiar with PLC control systems. Instrumentation (level/flow/temperature/analytical). Have a demonstrable knowledg of ATEX. Have experience of supplying electrical equipment into hazardous areas. Have an HND/HNC qualification in an electrical subject. Have knowledge of 17/18th Edition of the Electrical Regulations. Excellent Customer facing skills with the ability to work in challenging environments and be able to establish longterm relationships with customers. The following skills, experience and qualifications would be an advantage:- Comp ExCertification. Experience with pumps and pumping. Experience with mechanical powder transfer systems.
