About the Role Nursery Nurse This is an exciting and fulfilling role that incorporates lots of variety. As a Nursery Nurse, you will spend your days looking after children from 3 months old, right up to pre-school age. You’ll ensure that the children have fun whilst being sensitive and attentive to their individual needs. This role is open to those with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and we will also consider those with Level 2 or who are currently unqualified. We may be able to offer funded qualifications to a candidate who is looking to study. Full time (40 hours) and Part time (20 hours) considered. We are also looking for qualified bank staff. Room Leader The Room Leader is responsible for the day-to-day running of their room and supporting the management team in leading the setting to ensure that high quality childcare is provided to all. This role profile is not exhaustive and the Room Leader is expected to fulfil any duty as required for the effective running of the setting. Team Leader You’re an able and enthusiastic leader, a people person who can communicate well with others at all levels, from employees to young children. With previous experience of leading a team, you’ll have an excellent understanding of all standards and requirements that our nursery needs to comply with, including the EYFS, Ofsted and Health and Safety. Your day-to-day tasks would include: Nursery Nurse Working together with the rest of the team to provide high quality care for children aged 0-5. Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery by adhering to the relevant policies and procedures. Using your knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities. Building relationships with children and communicating well with their parents. Making sure every working day is fun! Room Leader Working as part of a team and using your initiative and imagination to generate new ideas Using your excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with parents, children and welcome visitors to the Nursery Looking after children of all ages Planning, implementing and evaluating a curriculum appropriate to age and individual needs of the children ensuring the room layout supports these aims Having lots of fun! Team Leader Ensuring that the EYFS is implemented and followed throughout the team to an exemplary standard. Providing day-to-day leadership and management for the team and staff across the nursery as required. Being involved in the recruitment of staff, including but not limited to, shortlisting, interviewing and observing safer recruitment practices. Assisting in the effective use of social media and other marketing activities as required. Fulfilling the role of key person to an exemplary standard, providing a positive role model for team members. Having lots of fun! Additional Information You will need: Nursery Nurse Suitable qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. We’ll also consider Level 2 and unqualified candidates with the right mix of skills. Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, and the ability to refer to the EYFS Framework when planning activities. To be aware of the role of planning, observation and keeping records when caring for nursery aged children. Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and meeting their needs. A satisfactory DBS check! Room Leader A NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent A good understanding of the EYFS and to be able to use this to plan activities for the children Awareness of planning, observing and record keeping for young children and the ability to link these to the individual child’s needs. Team Leader A full and relevant Early Years qualification – Level 3 or above. An excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and the Ofsted inspection framework. Experience of people management and dealing with employee issues. A comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations. Working knowledge of employment legislation including equal opportunities legislation. To be fully trained in safeguarding and paediatric first aid.
