Rate of Pay Under 18 years :£4.20 per hour 18-20 years :£5.90 per hour Full time post, 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri 18 months fixed term To start ASAP East Lothian Council is creating Modern Apprentice opportunities to support young people into employment who are aged between 16 and 19 years of age and reside in East Lothian. This position is only open to young people aged between 16 and 19 years of age who reside in East Lothian An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprentice to join Council Support. The post will be based at John Muir House, Haddington. The successful applicant will provide admin support to our Customer Feedback Team and other areas of Council Support. There will be on going support from an external training provider to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration. The duration of the apprenticeship will be for a fixed term 18 month period. With good interpersonal skills, you will be flexible, a team player, confident and able to converse with members of the public. Training in the use of specialist software packages will be provided, however a basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office packages is desirable. You must provide evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills (minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or National 4’s including English and Mathematics). Job Details To undertake a Modern Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 and provide an efficient and effective clerical support to Council Support – Unified Business Support. Job Requirements Relevant Qualifications A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or relevant experience of working in an office environment.
