You will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to a group of Consultant’s and associated clinical staff. You will act as a focal point for the provision of help and advice to staff members, patients and professionals in relation to service enquiries and co-ordinate the patients’ pathway. The department provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical care to older patients who are resident within North Glasgow. You are required to use their initiative and resourcefulness in addition to exercising a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy and tact. You will deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from, patients, relatives, and patient representatives, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure effectiveness of service delivery. You will maintain, update, input and interrogate data and information as required to the TrakCare system to assist with the retrieval of patient information for Out Patient clinics and ward admissions. You should have Secretarial Studies/Business Administration qualification or equivalent experience and in-depth and current Medical Terminology Experience. You should also be proficient in use of all NHS Software systems in the capacity of a medical secretary. The shift pattern for this post is worked over 5 days Monday – Friday.
