Intensive Support – Project Worker 4 Posts Fixed Term

Advert Based within various locations throughout Renfrewshire. The SPACE Project builds further upon the network of integrated services for Renfrewshire’s care experienced children and young people. It aims to enhance children/young people’s opportunities, achievements and outcomes. We are looking for suitably able and motivated individuals who are committed to providing vulnerable children/young people with the service they deserve. You will be responsible for an allocated caseload of vulnerable, complex and marginalised families of care experienced children/young people, aged 5-15. By providing advice, guidance and support you will assist the child/young person and their family to overcome issues and barriers they may face. You will assist them to engage with specific supports identified in their care/action plan and liaise with a range of agencies and partners. You will also be expected to contribute to care planning/risk management. You will have effective communication skills and the ability to engage well with disadvantaged families, children and young people in both group settings and on a one to one basis. It is important that you have the skills and enthusiasm to organise and facilitate a range of activities. The ability to manage situations where conflict may arise is essential. Pro social modelling and advocacy are a large part of this role as is the ability to manage your own time and prioritise effectively. You will also maintain up to date and accurate records and reports, written and electronic, as necessary and have a positive attitude to the use of IT systems such as CCM/SWIFT. Knowledge of local education resources is essential as is experience of supporting children/young people to maintain regular attendance within their identified education establishment. Where appropriate, project workers will also be expected to encourage and support the child/young person to access to universal and or extra-curricular activities. There are 4 posts available and you must be able to work evenings and weekends and have a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service. Experience of working within a child social care setting is essential and you should possess one of the following:- HNC or SVQ3 in Social Care or relevant qualification .
