Roman Catholic teachers will be issued with a permanent contract for St Martin’s RC PS. Non-Roman Catholic teachers will be issued with a temporary contract at St Martin’s RC primary school for a maximum of 4 years. They will be permanent to the authority, and, at the end of the temporary contract they will be redeployed to another primary school within East Lothian as required. St Martin’s RC Primary School serves the needs of Roman Catholic and non-denominational pupils in Tranent and surrounding areas, St Martin’s is a single storey building set in extensive grounds. There are seven classes from PI – P 7 and a 20/20 nursery class. There is a dining room and a gym/assembly hall and a library system running in the school with the support of parent helpers. A co-operative framework of support from home, school and Church surrounds our children. Job Details To undertake class-teaching duties Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction. Develop the school curriculum. Assess, record and report on the work of pupils. Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration. Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education. Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils. Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals. Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL). Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review. Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school. Job Requirements Relevant Qualifications Appropriate primary qualification For Permanent Posts: Full GTCS Registration is required. For Temporary Posts: Full/Provisional GTCS Registration is required.
