About the Role Surrey Adult Learning delivers a wide range of courses and learning opportunities for adults. It has seven centres across Surrey and is looking to appoint a full time Centre Coordinator to work in the Learning Services Team based at the Camberley Adult Learning Centre. The main purpose of the role is to oversee the day to day running of the Centre. You will manage a small team of staff and work closely with the Area Business Manager in facilitating the delivery of a range of day, evening and weekend courses. In addition you will be required to liaise with other teams within Surrey Adult Learning and encouraged to contribute your own ideas with regard to potential new courses and publicity for the Centre. You will need to be able to demonstrate a confident, ‘hands-on’ approach in ensuring the smooth operation of the Centre’s activities. This will include all aspects of facilities management, health and safety and administration relating to the delivery of courses and enrolment of Learners. You will have a background in customer care to enable you to support the team in delivering a high quality service to both internal and external customers and excellent communication skills in order to develop effective relationships beyond the immediate team. High standards of accuracy and attention to detail are required. You will need to be able to demonstrate a practical and confident approach as the role involves some lone working. Working hours are 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm. There may also be occasional evening and Saturday cover, in the absence of Centre Staff. The Camberley Adult Learning Team is a busy, friendly team of five full and part time members of staff, whose main responsibility is to provide a high level of customer service directly to members of the public whilst maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment. The team forms part of the larger Learning Services Team within Surrey Adult Learning.
