Advert DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE Planning, Development and Regulatory Services Assistant Planner – Historic Environment 35 hours per week Temporary up to one year initially £22,004 – £24,084 (including Distant Islands Allowance) We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic individual to undertake a Conservation Area Appraisal for St. Margaret’s Hope and to prepare a bid for Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) funding from Historic Environment Scotland. You will also assist in the preparation, delivery and maintenance of the Council’s Development Plan with a particular remit for policies, projects and guidance associated with the historic environment. Your main duties will include producing and reviewing supplementary guidance, other planning policy statements and site development briefs relating to the historic environment under the supervision of the Planning Manager Development and Marine Planning. You will be an experienced IT user and should be familiar with all Microsoft Office packages. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent. This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
